The best AI certification for a non-technical person depends on the goal: understanding AI for your current job, earning a vendor credential, or building an income by helping businesses use AI. This guide compares the main options by goal so you can pick the one that fits.
How to choose: start with your goal
| Your goal | Good fit | What you get | Limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Understand AI for your current job | Google AI Essentials, AI for Everyone, Elements of AI | Foundations and practical use of AI tools | Does not teach you to find clients or build a business |
| Earn a recognised vendor credential | Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals (AI-900) | An exam-based credential on core AI concepts and Microsoft's AI services | Vendor-specific; does not cover finding clients |
| Earn by implementing AI for businesses | BJKU AI Strategist Program | Business-problem diagnosis, offer creation, client acquisition and implementation, plus a Skool community | A practical training program rather than a vendor exam; results depend on doing the client work |
The main options

Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals (AI-900). An entry-level Microsoft certification exam covering core AI concepts and Microsoft's AI services. It suits people who want a recognised vendor credential.

Which should you pick?
- You want to understand AI for your own work: start with a free or low-cost foundations course. You do not need a paid program to learn the basics.
- Your employer or a job asks for a credential: choose a vendor certification such as AI-900.
- You want to earn by solving business problems with AI: choose a program built around client acquisition and implementation, such as the BJKU AI Strategist Program. Many people combine a foundations course with a program like this.
